Field report

Lofoten, Norway — where mountains fall straight into the sea.

Lofoten is one of Norway’s most beautiful corners, where dramatic landscapes meet the calm of northern life. We move through sharp peaks, turquoise bays and fishing villages at a pace that leaves room for views and authentic stops.

Sea and fjords

Traditional red fishing cabin on the Lofoten coast

Fishing villages

Henningsvær, Reine, Nusfjord and local stories that give the landscape another dimension.

Adventure at sea

A whale or orca trip and a private cruise among the fjords show Lofoten from a perspective you cannot see from the road.

Program shaped by conditions

We build the route around weather, light and conditions. Thanks to the small group, we can stop where the Lofoten landscape makes the most sense at that moment.

The program includes shorter hikes, viewpoints, boat trips and stops in fishing villages.

Itinerary

01
Arrival in Lofoten and overnight stay in a hotel near the airport.
02
On the second day, we travel to Andenes, a town at the very northern edge of Lofoten, known mainly for whale and orca sightings. In the afternoon, you will take a boat trip to search for them. The cruise also includes a tasting of traditional soup. The evening is free for exploring the town or dinner.
03
We set out on a longer but panoramic route, including a ferry ride with beautiful views of sharp peaks. We stop in the fishing village of Henningsvær, which stretches across several islands. In the afternoon, we take a shorter hike to probably the most beautiful beach in Lofoten — Kvalvika. For cold-water swimmers, there is time for a swim.
04
On the fourth day, we drive to the very end of Lofoten. On the way, we stop in the fishing village of Reine, the pearl of Lofoten. After walking through the village, we take a maintained trail, essentially stone steps, up to the viewpoint Reinebringen for that postcard-like view of the most beautiful fjords. Towards the end of the day, we head back east. On the way, we also stop in the oldest fishing village in Lofoten, Nusfjord and visit the fishing museum.
05
On the fifth day, we prepare a high-speed motorboat just for us and ride among the fjords. This opens up new perspectives, and we guarantee there is no better way to enjoy the majestic landscape. In the evening, we grill food outdoors and you will also have the chance to taste local delicacies.
06
On day six, depart for your onward journey home.
